A Chat with Cameron Gordon, Founder at Market Research Platform: OnePulse
OnePulse is redefining how businesses communicate with consumers. But what does the platform do?
Our intuitive platform democratizes market research allowing anyone in a business to get answers from targeted consumer audiences in seconds, and then move on with their day.
Decisions need to be made in business every day, and instead of relying on costly ‘out-of-date’ assumptions, OnePulse lets you converse with targeted consumers at the moment you need them, so you can make your decision with confidence.
For example, you want to ask a question to 500 males in London who buy sportswear and need your answer in the next 5 minutes. With OnePulse that’s no problem!
How makes OnePulse different than other market research tools?
The speed at which anyone in your business can now converse with targeted consumer audiences fundamentally changes how and when research fits into everyday business processes. We have clients who regularly use OnePulse mid-meeting to confirm consumer preference.
Our industry-first Unlimited Plan removes any budgetary hesitation that comes with the traditional outdated pay-per-use model. This new engagement model allows your business to speak to consumers and get valuable insights multiple times throughout the day with no additional cost, just a flat annual fee.
Aside from being a cost-effective way for businesses to gain consumer insight quickly, OnePulse also ensures that the process of collecting data is as seamless and enjoyable as possible for the users as well. Through our gamified app, users are notified when a relevant ‘Pulse’ is available to them and if they choose to participate they can opt-in with just the click of a button. The OnePulse experience is also enhanced by the user-friendly app design and a transparent rewarded system for each survey they complete.
Where did the idea for the company come from?
Originally from Australia, the product was first conceived when I woke up one morning to find that our current Prime Minister had been kicked out of office overnight and as part of the transition, the party was changing policies. I felt that there should be a way for the political party to quickly gauge public opinion on issues like this, even if the decision needed to be made within hours.
We quickly realised there was a much larger market for companies wanting to converse regularly with consumers, so we set out to create a platform for everyday people to answer questions and that was first and foremost consumer-focused. We wanted to create a platform to capture and engage consumers who take part in no other form of market research.
I am not someone who answers traditional survey emails and I wanted to create an engaging lifestyle app that everyday people would enjoy using while providing insight. I’m happy to say 85% of our community today don’t partake in any other form of research and use our app to give feedback on topics and news events that interest them. Our in-app gamification encourages progression and also helps drive our strong user retention.
We are proud of our community and the quality of insights they produce. We believe it’s at the heart of our success.
How has the company evolved during the pandemic?
We have seen a real need, more than ever, for companies to speak and engage with consumers. There is still a lot of uncertainty in many industries and a lot of companies are having to evolve rapidly in regards to how they engage with consumers. The OnePulse SaaS platform provides a cost-effective way to help companies communicate with consumers regularly, and be able to make agile business decisions during an ever-changing time.
What can we hope to see from OnePulse in the future?
OnePulse has just closed a funding round of £2M allowing us to scale our SaaS product offering across new international markets, so our clients can literally have their finger on the global ‘Pulse’ at any time and anywhere.
We will also continue to expand our Unlimited offering, which has seen huge success over the last 18 months since launch. We also have some great new features coming later this year that will continue to push us to the forefront of the industry, but you will have to come back and see these when they launch.
